Britain's largest union
said Sunday it was
merging with the United Steelworkers union in the United States
to create the
first trans-Atlantic labor organization.
Unite, which represents more than two million British workers in the transportation, energy and public sectors, among others, is set to join United Steelworkers, which has about 850,000 members in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.
